UNSUNG HEROES…
The silent night echoed with the wife's wail,
As her husband boards the ship set to sail,
Leaving his nation, he goes far,
To fight courageously in world war.
He chose to remain a soldier than be great,
As the drops of blood from his body outnumbered drops of sweat,
Fighting bravely, for his country is his aim,
His fellow companions too strive for the same.
After few days in battle he gives his last breath,
The mail slowly reaches home carrying news of his death.
The wife cries out loudly bereft of hope,
Alas! She relieves herself by hanging with a rope.
Yet another story of a family dying for country,
And then, there is none to give or take gallantry.
Who remembers his sacrifice for freedom?
Who remembers his attaining martyrdom?
